CHRISTMAS 2010

Christmas was pretty fun this year. We spent it with my family. We opened presents Christmas morning at the apartment. Our tree was a little sad as you see in one of they pictures but it was so much fun. All of us were able to be there this year. Even little Clark was able to come and meet the family. We had a large dinner with all the extended family that afternoon. It was so fun to see everyone and play with all the little kids. It was David and my first Christmas being married. It was awesome. We are looking forward to many more!

INTRODUCING.......THE NEWEST MEMBER OF OUR LITTLE FAMILY!

WELCOME TO OUR HOME POOTIE TANG PETERSON!!! Born 9/24/2010. We picked him up last friday and it was love at first sight. He is so cute. Neither of us have ever really had a dog, so this is a brand new experience for us. David is so cute with him. He is trying to teach him to potty train. We are really learning patience. He has peed everywhere including my parents bed, under Buddy and Tiffany's tree, and all over in our house. So if anyone has any ideas...help! He is so much fun though. Full of personality and very active and playful. How can you not love a face like his.

CATHERINE AND CODY FOREVER!

Catherine and Cody decided to be sealed in the Bountiful Temple this weekend. How exciting! We had to come up to be with them on their special day. They were so excited. The sealing was beautiful. They were told some wonderful blessings and the spirit was so strong in that little room. I am so glad we came up for it. They wanted pictures taken afterwards. They look so happy. I am so proud of them.

WHITE ELEPHANT TREASURE

At my work party, we had a white elephant gift exchange. David was particularly fond of this little treasure. This is what he chose over all the other gifts. We absolutely love it!! ha ha!

SO I'M STARTING A FLOWER GARDEN...

I think I need to start a flower garden. My sweet hubby surprised me with more flowers today! What am I doing to deserve all these? I don't know but I sure love them. Look how beautiful they are! Is he the greatest guy any girl could ask for or what?

IT'S BEGINNING TO LOOK A LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS...

I finally got my Christmas things out. I am so excited this is my first Christmas being married with my sweet hubby. So that makes it extra special to me. I bought all new Christmas decorations for my tree and I think it turned out really cute. It is really starting to feel like the holidays. I love this time of year.

SNOW?

The other we woke up and I looked outside and this is what I saw!!! Snow in St George? It almost felt like it was Christmas time or something. Of course, being St George, it melted right away. But it was kind of neat to see it here.

THANKSGIVING

Finally getting around to posting Thanksgiving. We ventured up to bountiful for Thanksgiving this year. We stayed at David's sisters new house in Farmington. It was really nice and of course, she had it looking cute as ever. We had a delicious dinner with Davids family. I took a picture of all the men that were on the couch while the women cooked.

After dinner we went to see my family and play with Caden and Eric. And of course, a family tradition, we looked at all the ads from the paper to plan our route on black friday. They were all party poopers this year so we did not get out until about 9 AM. We even saw Elizabeth Smart at nordstrom rack which was pretty cool. Karlee and me had a little too much fun in Lowe's and had my mom document the action. That is just what you do on black friday.

Know your Neighbors
Interview by Jessie Simmons
David Peterson has owned 23 Mountain View for
about six years. He now has a “partner” so I
should say David and Kara Peterson own 23
Mountain View. They were married in May 2010
and are full time residents. David works at Wal-
Mart Distribution Center and Kara works at Stapley
Pharmacy. David found this home through his
Dad (Brent Peterson) who owns 1 Scenic Circle.
They love it here because it is such a short
distance from their jobs. They love to golf, water
ski, fish, camp, and hike and go 4 wheeling.

HALLOWEEN FESTIVITIES

Halloween this year was one crazy day. It started early with David and I speaking in church. We had the subjects of earthly and heavenly debts and tithing. I think we both did pretty good. It was kind of fun. After church, David searched through the dryer for our little mouse friend that you will read about in the previous post...and I slaved away in the kitchen to make a festive halloween dinner for the troops. The menu included spider throw up salad, chili in a pumpkin, freaky finger sticks, slimy worm jello and bat brew. It turned out pretty cute.

ATTACK OF THE MOUSE!

A few weeks ago I kept seeing gross little mouse doodles in my laundry shed. I would clean them up and they would come back with a vengeance. So I bought some dcon hoping they would be driven away. It really worked. I stopped seeing those gross doodles. But not long after, I started smelling this funky smell. I cleaned so good all around the washer and dryer and still the smell was there. I opened the dryer and it was inside the dryer! A gross smell that I could not pinpoint. But then I decided it was a dead mouse in the dryer!! So David started tearing into it. We cleaned up what seemed like millions of doodles and pee. We found no mouse. David looked all day long. So he started putting it back together. He could not put it back together without taking it apart further. Thats when he found it....!! The sick gross blown up furball of a mouse. Right there inside the inner workings of our dryer...!!! So So gross....! I am so thankful to David for cleaning that thing up! What a man.

DAVID'S NEW CALLING!

WHEN WE WERE NEWLY MARRIED AND NEW TO THE WARD, DAVID AND I WERE CALLED TO TEACH SUNDAY SCHOOL TO THE 15 YEAR OLDS IN OUR WARD.  WE REALLY ENJOY IT EVERY WEEK. OUR CLASS IS SO NEAT.  ALL THE KIDS ARE SO AWESOME.  I THINK THE KIDS REALLY  LIKE DAVID BECAUSE THEY ARE ALWAYS TELLING THE BISHOPRIC THAT THEY WANT HIM IN THE YOUNG MENS AS WELL.  SO TONIGHT WE GOT A CALL FROM ONE OF THE COUNSELORS IN THE BISHOPRIC. HE WANTED TO MEET WITH BOTH OF US ABOUT A NEW CALLING.  WE WERE KIND OF WONDERING WHAT KIND OF CALLING HE WOULD BE GETTING TO HAVE TO HAVE ME THERE.  SO WE HEADED ON DOWN TO MEET WITH HIM AND DAVID NOW HAS THE PROUD NEW CALLING OF 2ND COUNSELOR IN THE YOUNG MENS OF THE LEEDS 1ST WARD!  HE WANTED ME THERE TO MAKE SURE I WOULD SUPPORT HIS NEW CALLING.  HE WILL BE OVER THE DEACONS IN THE WARD.  WE ARE BOTH PRETTY EXCITED.  THE YOUNG MEN ABSOLUTELY LOVE HIM.  HE IS SO GOOD WITH KIDS OF ALL AGES AND I THINK HE WILL BE THEIR NEW ROLE MODEL.  HE HAS SUCH A WONDERFUL SPIRIT AND TESTIMONY AND WILL DEFINATELY BE A GREAT EXAMPLE TO THOSE YOUNG MEN.

WHO'S THAT LADY?

David came home the other night and asked me if I wanted new eyelashes. He said that he works with a girl who knows a girl who puts on lash extensions.  So this girl he works with texted me and told me to come with her and get some.  So I guess I had to.  It was kind of cool. Now I have super long lashes. I don't have to wear mascara anymore....well until they fall out.  They are pretty fun.

CLARK EVERETT BROADBENT

So, I didn't want to put any pictures on my blog before my sister did but I have a new nephew!!!!  Clark Everett Broadbent was born on September 5th!  So being the big sister and all...I had to venture to Texas to meet him.  He is so so so cute!  Kalina is doing great after having the little guy.  I feel like mothering has come so natural to her.  She seemed to know exactly what to do.  Unlike me...I was so akward with the little guy.  But maybe when its your own, you know just what to do.  Daddy Steve is so cute with him.  We went to church with him on sunday and he was telling everyone he knew about his new little son. Its so exciting to see all these cute families growing.  I have to say though...I am pretty sure I have the cutest nephews alive!

A LABOR DAY TO REMEMBER!

For Labor Day weekend, we came up to Bountiful to see Chris take out his endowments at the bountiful temple.  It was such a great experience.  I was able to be Karlee's escort which was kind of cool.  His family was there and so was ours.  He was so excited and we are so excited for him.
We of course got to play with the cutest boys on the planet.  We did a lot of swinging and jumping on the trampoline and playing with cars.  David was so super cute with Caden pushing him on the swing.  I had to post a picture of that.  He made Caden laugh so loud.

We stopped by my parents new house that they are working on to see what they have been doing and my dad was tearing down the hill with his new toy.  I made David try it out.  I think he had fun trying to tear down the hill.
This is their house.  It will look so good when it is done.  It is a HUGE project but they are good at it and enjoy it.
One more super exciting thing happened this weekend but I don't want to post anything just yet.....its not my story to tell until it is announced!  So stay tuned......

BICYCLE MANIA!

We decided that we sit around too much at home doing nothing so since the weather is finally starting to cool down, we are going to bikers.  Our goal is to eventually go from our house, around to Toquerville, through Laverkin to Hurricane and then around Quail Lake back to our house.  It is a long way!  Too bad we are super out of shape and only rode like 10 miles.  I got a major side ache and wanted to cry.  We need a little more practice at this whole excercise thing.  We are going to keep at it though!

RAYS FROM HEAVEN

I took 3 pictures of Caden in the same spot, same angle and same camera settings. One came out like this. Maybe my camera captures direct rays from heaven. This little guy has been in many prayers lately and maybe this light is showing that heaven hears our prayers....Its always a good thought right?

A WEEKEND IN IDAHO

This past weekend, David and I headed up north for a family reunion. We stopped in Bountiful to see some friends and some family on our way. It was really nice to see everyone again. Its not until I am up there that I really miss everyone.
The reunion was in Ririe Idaho. It is close to Rexburg. The first night there, we had a bonfire. My niece Lillie and I went for a walk with my nephew Brent and another cousin Mike. It was close to dark and it was a wooded area and we got a little lost. We were walking through streams and through the tall grass. We had no idea where we were and it was really getting dark and a little scary. We eventually found our way back where everyone was worried and looking for us. oops! I'm supposed to be the responsible grown up. We stayed at Grandma's house in Newdale. It is so beautiful there. We woke up early for a temple session in the Rexburg temple. I never knew decorating in wheat and barley could be so beautiful! It was really beautiful and I really understood that special things can happen there. After the session, we did sealings. It was a really neat experience because I did not remember much of the words from my own sealing to my amazing husband so I got to hear the words and ponder them while they were being spoken. What an amazing religion. The temple is definately where we need to be. There is such a special spirit there.

We had a picnic in the park for the reunion. We ate pig, played volleyball, and had helicopter rides. I have to include this picture. I find the most amazing sights in Idaho. (my family should appreciate this)

my cute nieces!!
To end the great weekend, we stopped to see my little man Caden and little Eric who is becoming such a cutie with a fun personality. Caden had surgery and had a feeding tube put in his stomach to help with his allergies. I was surprised at how up beat he was. I asked him if he liked his little stomach tube and he enthusiastically said yes. He even likes wearing the back pack that holds his feeding pump. He knew I was coming and was so excited, he had to call me on the phone before I came and had to tell me he was excited to see me and when would I be there. So cute!
