I LOVE OCTOBER!

David and I went up to Bountiful this last weekend because Kalina and Steve and Clark were in town.  While we were there we did tons of fun things!  Saturday, we met Buddy's little family at Wheeler Farm because they were walking for food allergies.  We toured around Wheeler Farm and took oodles of pictures.  We saw animals and got to feed the ducks.  After Wheeler Farm, David and I took Karlee and Chris up to Crystal Hot Springs for a lovely soak in the minerals.  We got an eyeful of all sorts of strange people while we were there.
Sunday, we headed to Caden's primary program.  He did such a good job saying his line.  We went to eat at their house afterwards.  It was so fun seeing those cute boys again.  Before we left American Fork, we decided to go for a little drive up the canyon to see the fall leaves.  It was so beautiful!  Kalina and I took about a million pictures.  These are just a few of the little goodies!

AFTER CONFERENCE HIKE

After feeding ourselves spiritually these last couple days, we decided to go on a hike.  All this beautiful view is behind David's parents house.  We hiked down the canyon to the river and back up.  It was fun to take a bunch of pictures of the nephews and the beautiful surroundings.

MY ALLERGY BABY!

We may have found the 5th baby in the family with allergies!  My POOTIE!  He always it scratching himself and pulling out his hair and I didn't think much of it but David was looking around on the internet and seems to think it may be food allergies!  We have been researching it a lot and come to find out, lots of small breeds of dogs especially maltipoos get food allergies.  So we trapsed down to the pet store and bought some deliciously expensive dog food and some shampoo that is hypo-allergenic and natural for his delicate skin. David even went as far as shaving the poor baby's hair completely off!  (he needs a little practice in dog grooming =] ) The website says to stay away from dog food that has corn, wheat and soy.  So we will try it out for awhile and see if that cures all the itching and biting out of hair.  It must be a Scherbel thing.  What is up with all the food allergies??? I think Kalina said it best when she told me that "we're like toxic disease vessels spewing food allergies wherever we go."

HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY!

Saturday was my baby Pootie's first birthday!!  David decided to make him a little Pootie house for outside when it rained or just to hang out in.  Its still a work in progress but it's so cute.  David and I celebrated by going to a movie and do dinner but we left Pootie at home!  ha ha.  We even painted David's toenails to celebrate too! ha ha!  It was a fun weekend with our little family.

ICE CREAM SCULPTING

I was in charge of our Young woman activity this week.  We learned all about Michaelangelo sculpting the famous "David" statue.  We learned that in order to sculpt, you have to take away part of what you are sculpting in order to make your masterpiece.  We related that to our lives where we were statues and our Heavenly Father was sculpting us by taking away things like sins and bad habits to make us the "perfect" masterpiece.  So I gave them bricks of ice cream and they sculped their masterpieces.  Some of the things they came up with were so creative!  They all told me it was a way fun activity!  Here are their sculptures.

WHAT'S AILING US...

Well everyone at the Peterson household has something that is ailing them this week.
Our pootie was riding in the back of uncle Jeffrey's truck when he decided to jump out while riding at a swift speed of 35.  We did not see it happen but pretty sure he took a rough tumble on the gravel on the road.  He had some good road rash all along his left side.  Right next to his eye had a big scrape and bruise, his elbow was a little cut and bleeding, he had some good road rash on his little body on the left side, his knee got a big gash and a good chunk of skin was missing and he was bleeding pretty good from it, and his little chin and nose were skinned up really good.  He was a little tender for a day after it happened and was really babying his leg but he it back to normal and scabbing over quite nicely.  What a nut!!  I think he learned his lesson and will not be riding in the back of a truck bed anymore. At least we learned our lessons not to let him back there.
David got an ear infection. He has such small cute ears (furline ears as the nurse called them) that wax likes to build up in there and trap water causing infection. His ear is really swollen and painful to the touch.
I decided to go and get skin cancer....sorry for the gross picture.  I had this red spot growing on me for a year or so and finally decided to go check it out.  They scraped a good chunk off the top and sent it to the lab.  2 weeks later, I got a phone call....it was cancer!  Basal Cell Carcinoma.  So I had to go back to the doctor.  All they kept saying was..."she's so young!"  So he told me I had 2 options. He could dig a little and freeze then dig more then freeze then dig more and freeze and be left with a big scar...or they could give me some cream to put on for 6 weeks and it would kill it all..  I opted for the cream. All that digging and burning was not very appealing.  So I am on my journey to becoming a cancer survivor!  I have to go back in 3 months to make sure it is all gone.  What a week for the Petersons!!!

TOGETHER FOREVER

Karlee and Chris were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on Saturday.  It was a beautiful day. It was a really beautiful sealing as well.
Just an awesome side note... Kalina and I were in the marriage waiting room and my dad came over and said "look over there!". So we did and to our amazement, it was Sheri Dew!  She was waiting for a sealing also.  So my dad asked us if we wanted to meet her and we said "YES!'.  So he takes us over to her and taps her on the shoulder and he said "Sheri, meet my daughters!"  So she talked to us for a minute asking what our names were and why we were here and then Kalina told her that she really enjoyed her books.  Then lame old me says "keep writing!"  I felt so stupid like we were teenagers meeting our actor crush.  But it was actually a really neat experience. She was very nice to talk to.  Amazing  things really do happen in the temple.! What an amazing place!
Here are the events of the day told in pictures......
Here are the super fabulous photographers of the day getting ready.

This photographer looks like she knows what she is doing far more than her sister who has no idea what she is doing.

Here are some of the guests that were there.  Who is that hunk on the right?? Oh yeah...my hubby. I am such a lucky gal.

Here are some of my edits.  I am just learning how to take good pictures and edit them.  I am not  a professional but here is what I came up with.

The temple grounds were amazing as always with beautiful flowers everywhere.

The night ended with a perfect sunset.
