THE WAVE

We went hiking to a place called the Wave.  It is in Kanab.  Karlee has wanted to go for several years.  You have to be in Kanab and put in for a drawing because only 20 people can hike it a day.  She has been coming down here once a year for about 7 years putting in for the lottery and not winning a ticket but finally this was her year. They put in for a sunday and got it!  So 6 of us went.  It was about 6 miles round trip.  It was kind of a hard hike.  I hurt for days after!  It was a lot of uphill on rocks and in sand.  But it was so beautiful once we got there!  It was so amazing. It was a sandstone formation shaped like a wave.  Karlee was so excited to actually be there on the hike!  I am glad we got to go with her.

BIKING FUN

Behind our house there are some great biking trails so we decided to try them out a few weeks ago.  We found an old car and modeled it for the camera, we found old houses and found out there was a movie filmed there in 1969, we found all sorts of trails to bike around, and we got some good exercise for our poor bodies that have gotten a little too fluffy.  It was a fabulous time!

BATHROOM REMODEL

We decided to remodel our bathroom. 

It had these weird linoleum tile things that were not sticking to the ground anymore so we replaced it with tile.

We replaced the vanity with a smaller one because our bathroom is small so it makes it seem so much bigger.

We got a new toilet seat cover that actually matched the rest of the toilet.  It was 2 toned before.

David evened out the floor because it was not even before.

David did all the work himself and it turned out so so good looking.  He does awesome work!  I am so grateful to be married to someone who is so handy. 

BAKESTRESS?

When I was younger I was in the 4-H and one year we did cake decorating.  I am not sure I have decorated a cake since then and even then, I was terrible at it. I did really bad.  So I tried my hand at it again thinking I could do better now that I am older. I thought wrong. I am not so good at cake decorating but the little bunting decoration sure turned out cute!  I guess I just need some more practice.

NEW BEGINNINGS 2012

For New Beginnings we did a black and white theme.  Our theme this year is Arise and Shine Forth so it was like we were asking the young women to step out of the darkness of the world and Arise and Shine Forth.  It turned out so cute.  We decorated with lights and lamps and I even had the young women make paper lanterns and we put little tea lights inside them to put on the tables.  I took pictures of all the girls and printed them out in black and white and also color.  So on one wall I hung up the black and white ones then I put the colored ones against a white background with lights behind it so to say they are coming out of the dark and shining!  We had a great program then some great refreshments that were amazingly done by our Young women secretary.  The girls LOVED what we had put together and it turned out to be a fabulous evening!
