A WEEKEND IN IDAHO

This past weekend, David and I headed up north for a family reunion. We stopped in Bountiful to see some friends and some family on our way. It was really nice to see everyone again. Its not until I am up there that I really miss everyone.
The reunion was in Ririe Idaho. It is close to Rexburg. The first night there, we had a bonfire. My niece Lillie and I went for a walk with my nephew Brent and another cousin Mike. It was close to dark and it was a wooded area and we got a little lost. We were walking through streams and through the tall grass. We had no idea where we were and it was really getting dark and a little scary. We eventually found our way back where everyone was worried and looking for us. oops! I'm supposed to be the responsible grown up. We stayed at Grandma's house in Newdale. It is so beautiful there. We woke up early for a temple session in the Rexburg temple. I never knew decorating in wheat and barley could be so beautiful! It was really beautiful and I really understood that special things can happen there. After the session, we did sealings. It was a really neat experience because I did not remember much of the words from my own sealing to my amazing husband so I got to hear the words and ponder them while they were being spoken. What an amazing religion. The temple is definately where we need to be. There is such a special spirit there.

We had a picnic in the park for the reunion. We ate pig, played volleyball, and had helicopter rides. I have to include this picture. I find the most amazing sights in Idaho. (my family should appreciate this)

my cute nieces!!
To end the great weekend, we stopped to see my little man Caden and little Eric who is becoming such a cutie with a fun personality. Caden had surgery and had a feeding tube put in his stomach to help with his allergies. I was surprised at how up beat he was. I asked him if he liked his little stomach tube and he enthusiastically said yes. He even likes wearing the back pack that holds his feeding pump. He knew I was coming and was so excited, he had to call me on the phone before I came and had to tell me he was excited to see me and when would I be there. So cute!

A PHANTOM BIRTHDAY

For my birthday, David took me friday night to Las Vegas to see the Phantom of the Opera. It was so so so good. I loved it. I especially love the music in it. So good!
We drove to a hotel about 45 minutes away up in the mountains of Las Vegas to a place called Mount Charleston. It was really pretty. It was a little resort surrounded by mountains out of the hot air of Las Vegas. We stayed in a little room that had a balcony overlooking the pond out front. It was nice little getaway. On saturday we went shopping. I don't know if I was worried about money or just couldn't find anything I liked but I did not buy anything. We shopped for hours! What is wrong with me! We decided to come back and David took me to my favorite place, Samurai 21 for dinner. It was so yummy!

Today, we went to church and taught our first lesson.  We now teach sunday school to the 15 year olds and we got the manual like at 9 last night.  Our lesson was not the most prepared lesson but we did ok.  We have 9 kids in our class. Strange cuz our ward is all old people.  But they seem cool.  We are going to dinner at Davids parents house tonight.  They are making me a cake.  Happy Birthday to me. =)

I LOVE TO SEE THE TEMPLE

We all got together and decided to go do a session at the temple the other night. David and I went with his parents and our sister in law Julie. I had never been to the St George temple and I was so excited. It was beautiful! I am so grateful for a temple so close and for amazing people that I can share it with.

4TH OF JULY 2010!

This was the first family vacation David and I had as married people! It was so much fun.

We took off friday night and drove to bountiful. I forgot how much I loved it there. So we woke up saturday morning and helped my parents with their ward breakfast since they are now on the activities committee. After that we headed to Idaho for the cabin! We got there in the early afternoon and started in on the activities. I played with little Caden and Eric and my cousins little cuties, Kennedy and Kinder.

Curt came with his boat so we got on that and David wakeboarded. I refused to get in the water. It was about 65 degrees in the air so you can imagine how cold that water was. I think i'm just getting too old. =) It is always so much fun hanging out with the cousins.

We watched fireworks over the lake. People on the other end always bring the awesome ones so all we have to do is set up chairs and watch. Of course we did our own cuz there are tons of pyros in the family.

On sunday we went to a baby blessing in Pocatello that we were late to and missed...oops.
We came back and had a surprise baby shower for Kleeda that was really fun. She got so many cute little things. I am so excited for a new baby Broadbent soon!

We left monday late afternoon cuz we had to get in all the skiing and tubing. Not a good idea when you have to work at 9 the next morning in St George. We made it home at 2AM. But so worth the fun family filled weekend!

A TRIP TO THE FALLS

So our neighbors called us up the other night and told us they had dinnner ready for us.  They are from El Salvador and only speak Spanish.  So David likes to practice his Spanish and hang out with them.  She is an amazing cook and makes authentic Mexican food. It is really good.  So we were over there the other night and we all decided to go up to the falls where David proposed to me.  We hopped in the Jeep and headed up there.  They Loved it!  They went and played in the water.  They loved to sit below the waterfall and let the water push them around.

There are actually 2 waterfalls up there and David thought the water felt so good, he jumped off one of them into the pool below.  He said the water felt so good and wants to go hang out there all the time.  So ...if anyone wants to come down my way, we have somewhere to take you.  It is so beautiful and so much fun.  I was sad because I did not bring my swim suit. So I was the awesome photographer.  It was a super fun place to be on such a hot day!

MEXICAN PHARMACIST

When we were in Mexico on our Honeymoon, we rented a scooter and drove all over the island of Cozumel. We were driving down a street and saw this little pharmacist guy in front of his pharmacy. It was so hilarious we had to stop and pull over and take a video. Too bad they dont have these here!

A WONDERFUL SURPRISE

I was at home this morning and I got a phone call from Tiffany.  She said that they were down in St George and she wanted to know if I wanted to see my little guys.  So I was so excited!  We met at a park and played on the swings and all around the park.  Apparently, Caden had been wanting to come to St George to see Aunt Kara for a couple weeks now.  He told me all about how he saw Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse at disneyland. Little Eric just smiled and grinned the whole time they were there.  What a cute little guy.  I was so glad they called me!  It made my day. Thanks Tiffany!

HELLO LAKE!

It was the first day at the lake for the summer!  We took the boat out and it did not work very well.  We still had a ton of fun.  We took along some of Davey's friends Doug and Elliot.  They all jumped in the water and I was such a wuss cuz it was SO COLD! I think I will wait til it warms up a smidge.  I am so excited for a super fun summer!

OUR HONEYMOON!

So I think we had the funnest honeymoon ever.  We were able to take a 6 day cruise to the caribbean.  Here is the map to where we cruised.
We left on a Sunday evening and flew til morning.  Our ship departed florida monday evening and we cruised until the next saturday morning.  Let me tell you, if you do not want to plan a vacation and want people to wait on you hand and foot this is the vacation to go on.  Cruises are so much fun.
The first 2 days we were at sea.  We swam, we ate, we went to shows, we were in shows, we ate some more (i think we both gained a few pounds), we explored the ship, then you guessed it...we ate some more. Here are some pictures we took on the ship.
This is me in the battle of the sexes gameshow they had one of the nights.
This is one of the pools we swam in one day.  This is my hot sexy husband!
So i guess on a cruise, every night your room cleaner people make your towels into different animals.  So I took pictures of them all.  They are very creative.
The third day we docked at Georgetown in the Grand Cayman Islands.  I really wanted to go play with the stingrays.  We had not planned any shore excursions because they were so expensive but as soon as you walk off the ship, you are bombarded by people that want to take you places for cheap, so we hopped in a van and they drove us to a ferry where we got on and ferried out to where you can play with stingrays.  It was so cool!  There were so many of them.  So we each got to hold them and play with them.  If you rub their bellies, they cuddle up to you.  They are surpisingly very calm things unless you step on their tails or something or threaten them.   These people also let us feed them.  So I got a picture of David feeding one. It sucked so hard on him that it left a little red mark.  We also went snorkeling.  I saw a big yellow eel inbetween  some rock and there were lots of colorful fish we could see.

It was so beautiful there.  I would love to go back someday.
The next day we docked in Cozumel, Mexico.  The water there was extremely clear. It looked like a swimming pool. It was so pretty there. We walked around and looked at all the shops and bought souveniers then we rented a scooter and drove around the island.  We wanted to see some ancient mayan ruins so we hopped on and started driving.  We sort of got lost and somehow made it to the other side of the island where we found a "naked beach."  We did not see any naked people so we weren't sure if it was a joke or for real.  We stopped to eat for some authentic mexican food and it was so worth it. It was so so good!

We finally found the ruins and they were small yet pretty cool.

There were iguanas all over Grand Caymans and Mexico.  They were all various sizes.  It was cool to see them everywhere!

After we saw the ruins, we drove back into town and walked around the little shops again and played in the ocean for a minute before we had to return back to the ship.  The water was amazing!

The next 2 days were at sea again on our way back to Florida.  We think we drank or ate something bad because we were sick the last day of the cruise.  We were sad to see the cruise end but glad to get back to reality.  It was so much fun and we made so many friends.  Dinners were fun because they had put all the honeymooners at one table.  There were 5 couple including us that had all gotten married on May 15.  So it was fun to learn about them and how they met and hear all about their weddings.  We were so thankful to have the opportunity to go on this fun cruise.

JUNE 1999

So as I am sitting here at home jobless, I think back at how much I miss my awesome job at Orchard Drug. I started in June 1999 and pretty much have been there ever since. It was my home and they were my family. So sad! I was so touched that on my last day, Sherry got me some balloons and posted signs all over. I cried. I think Dale was the best boss I have ever had. He was more like my grandpa than anything.  He was always watched out for me and would do anything for me. Maybe Orchard Drug would consider relocating :)
